From measurement to a tested fit.

This is a self-service guide for the configurable floating wheelcap. The preview helps you inspect geometry; it does not establish compatibility with every wheel or certify a printed part for use.

You purchase digital print files for one configuration. Printed parts, bearings and other hardware are not included. No custom design assistance is included.

1. Measure before buying

Remove and measure a compatible existing cap where possible. Use calipers and check several points. Do not infer a retaining dimension from the wheel brand, nominal wheel diameter or front face alone. Open the studio’s measuring guide for the measurement locations.

Face widthMeasure across the widest circular front edge. Check the wheel’s recess and surrounding clearance.
Back clip widthMeasure across opposite retaining bumps without squeezing the clips. Confirm the actual opening and retaining lip in the wheel.
Retention depthMeasure from the cap’s wheel-seating underside to the cap-facing shoulder of a retaining bump. Exclude the retaining bump band and insertion ramp. Do not enter total clip depth here.

Check the space behind the cap as well: the central mechanism and counterweight extend beyond the retaining shoulder. Confirm clearance throughout the mechanism’s rotation. The default measurements are a reference example, not a fit recommendation.

2. Review the exact configuration

The interactive assembly updates to reflect your configuration. Inspect both fit and assembly views, and use the dimension overlays to review your measurements. Check all three basic dimensions and any advanced settings. Keep your measurement notes. Geometry validation identifies only the checks described in its report; it does not prove physical strength, retention or printability.

Personal licensing covers your own vehicle, fit tests and replacements, including having a third-party printer print for you. Commercial licensing covers unlimited physical prints of this same configuration for one business. Digital files cannot be shared or resold beyond the permissions in the license. 3. Prepare the files in your slicer

  1. Extract the ZIP and read its dimensions and validation report. Keep the original package and version number.
  2. Import the printable STL components in millimetres. Confirm the displayed dimensions. Leave global scaling at 100%; scaling the whole assembly also changes the fixed bearing fits and shaft.
  3. Inspect each part’s orientation, overhangs, bridges and support access in layer preview. Keep support contact away from moving and mating surfaces where practical.
  4. Choose material and settings suitable for the real temperature, weather and mechanical demands. Use the material manufacturer’s guidance and your own printer’s calibration. No universal material, orientation, layer height or infill profile has been validated for this design.
  5. Print a fit test and check its actual measurements. Account for your printer’s dimensional accuracy before changing the purchased geometry.

4. Obtain hardware and assemble carefully

The reference mechanism uses two bearings with 14 mm outside diameter, 8 mm bore and 4 mm width, and a spacer with 10.4 mm outside diameter, 8.4 mm bore and 5 mm length. Check the dimensions and component information supplied with your files before sourcing hardware. Dummy bearings shown in the preview are not printable substitutes.

Identify parts in the studio’s separated view. Remove support and debris, inspect for cracks or weak layer bonds, then check each mating surface. Do not force a bearing or clip into place. Confirm that the face and counterweight turn freely without rubbing, and that all components remain securely retained. An installation tool is not included.

5. Check fit on the stationary wheel

Check seating, retaining engagement, removal and clearance with the vehicle stationary. If engagement requires excessive force, clips crack, the assembly rubs or the cap can come loose, stop and resolve the cause. A visually convincing preview or a successful stationary fit is not evidence of durability under driving conditions. A detached cap can create a road hazard.

6. Use an included fit correction

Open Order access in the studio or use your email link. A paid configuration includes at most two saved fit corrections within 30 days of purchase. Each correction can change any or all of the three basic dimensions by up to ±2 mm relative to the original purchase. Changes do not accumulate into a wider allowance. Advanced dimensions remain fixed apart from the clip-root adjustment linked to back clip width; physical geometry constraints still apply.

Enter the measured correction, review all three values, then save once. A successful changed configuration uses one correction; an unchanged submission does not. Download the new version and repeat your fit checks. Different configurations or changes outside this allowance require a new purchase. These fit corrections are separate from statutory remedies described in the terms.

Common issues

Slicer shows the wrong sizeCheck millimetre units and 100% scale. Compare with the package’s dimensions before printing.
Clips are tight or looseCompare measured print dimensions with the file and wheel opening. Review retaining width and shoulder depth separately. Do not assume enlarging the face fixes clip engagement.
Rotation is obstructedCheck hardware dimensions, support residue and contact between moving parts. Inspect the entire rotation before installation.
A correction is rejectedCheck the original ±2 mm bounds, remaining corrections, deadline and the stated geometry constraint. Refresh the order if another session changed its version.
Files or email link are missingUse Order access with the checkout email, then check spam. Keep access links private; a recovery link may expire, in which case request another.
Payment is pendingReturn after completing checkout and refresh the order. Files unlock only after payment is confirmed.
